Clara Golding

Clara Jane Golding, age 68, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024 at her home in Mena, Arkansas. She was born on Monday, November 7, 1955 to Forrest and Gladys Combs Gardenhire in San Bernardino, California.

Clara, a cherished and loving family matriarch, passed away surrounded by the warmth of her loved ones. Known for her vibrant spirit, Clara devoted herself to creating beautiful wreaths and capturing her world on canvas through painting. Known to her grandchildren as Mimi and Grandma California, she found immense joy in swimming and playing with her grandchildren, always ensuring they felt deeply loved and cherished. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life; she served with grace at Shelter Cove Community Church in Modesto, California, and attended Grace Bible Church during her years in Mena. Clara's legacy of love, creativity, and devotion will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry Golding; her brother, Gary Gardenhire; and her granddaughter, Hosanna Barnes.

Clara is survived by her son and daughter in law, Jason and Misty Barnes of Pryor, Oklahoma; one daughter, Deborah Barnes of Mena; step son and daughter in law, Kevin and Jessica Golding of San Francisco, California; step daughter and son in law, Kimberly and Adam Murdaugh of Modesto, California; two brothers, Mike Gardenhire and Tim Gardenhire; two sisters, Sharon Atteberry and Pat Smith; seventeen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

No services are planned at this time. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas.
