Billy Ray Allen, age 65, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023 at his home. He was born on Tuesday, October 15, 1957 to Edward Jackson Allen and Nora Jeanette (Henderson) Allen in Helena, Arkansas.\n\nBilly's fun-loving personality radiated in everything he did, and he was never one to shy away from an adventure. As a devoted father, he took great pride in raising his daughter DeAnna, whom he cherished more than anything in the world. One of Billy's most notable achievements was his three-year service in the military, where he drove a tanker and even had the opportunity to visit Germany. He was proud to have served his country, and his experiences in the military no doubt contributed to his later career as a police officer in Missouri for ten years. Above all else, Billy had a deep connection with animals, particularly wolves, and his beloved husky dog, Zorro. He enjoyed the great outdoors, finding solace and adventure in hunting and fishing. His love for nature was only matched by his passion for rock 'n' roll music and bowling, activities which brought joy to his life and those around him. Billy was a loving father, uncle, brother, and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. \n\nBilly is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Nora Allen; maternal grandparents, Robert and Nora Henderson; paternal grandparents, Willie Mae Belcher and Miles Allen; two brothers, Robert Allen and Dave Steele; one son, Kyle Allen; and grandson, Braedan Creekmore.\n\nHe is survived by his loving daughter, DeAnna Allen and partner Bradley of Mena, Arkansas; two sisters and brother in law, Laura Allen of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Kathy Livingston and husband Jeff of Helena, Arkansas; one brother, Larry Allen of Mena, Arkansas; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and dear friends.\n\nA memorial service will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 10:00 AM at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel.
