Benly Townsend Obituary (1935 - 2022)

Benly Don Townsend passed peacefully in his home on August 8, 2022 at 87 years old, surrounded by his family. He was born on January 19, 1935 to John William and Clara Townsend in Van Zandt County, Texas. Benly was the youngest of eight children. He married Janell Johnston on October 31, 1953 in Vandervoort, Arkansas. Together they had Cindy (David Davis) and Michael Townsend. Six grandchildren: Dustin, Devon, and Ethan Davis along with Bea, Bailey and Blair Townsend. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren and honorary granddaughter, Brooke Ferguson. The family would like him to be remembered for his relentless work ethic and joking nature. No service are planned at this time.
