Barbara Bishop

Barbara Jean Bishop, age 88, of Mena, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at her home. She was born on Friday, June 12, 1936 to Kermit and Nettie Yeager Goodner in Spring Creek, Arkansas.

Barbara, a beacon of strength and love, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith and independence. Known for her strong willed spirit, she embraced life with passion through her gardening, crochet, and sewing. Barbara’s devotion to the Lord was profound; she consistently reminded those around her of Jesus’s control over all aspects of life. Her ultimate message was one of faith and focus on Christ, which she lived out with heartfelt dedication.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and one daughter, Margie Madden.

Barbara is survived by three sons, David Woten of Mena, Martin Woten of Hardy, Larry Woten of West Plains, Missouri; one daughter, Theresa Gilchrist of Mena; one brother, Dwight Goodner of Mena; numerous grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

No services are planned at this time. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas.
