Joy Rozell Bailey Jenkins

Joy Rozell Bailey Jenkins, age 84 of Wickes, Arkansas, died on Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Mena Regional Hospital. She was born on Sunday, November 19, 1933 to Lonnie Odell and Creo Rillie Edwards Reatherford in Brownfield, Texas.

Joy loved her family and spending time with the ones she cared for. She lived for many years in Zafra, Oklahoma, building a working family farm on 380 acres with her first husband, Cecil. Joy enjoyed bird watching, playing the piano, crocheting, sewing, and woodworking. She loved the Lord and always knew He would provide for her and her family. She was a member of the Wickes Church of the Nazarene. Joy was very active in her daily life and was a former board member of the Cossatot Senior Center in Wickes. Joy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Cecil Alton Bailey; one son, Travis Bailey; her twin brother, Troy Reatherford; one sister, Fay Faulkner and one grandson, Derrick Jenkins.

Joy is survived by her husband, Lacey Jenkins of Wickes; her children: Karen and Carl Hooper of DeKalb, Texas, Brian and Leslie Bailey of Aurora, Colorado, Martin and Maria Bailey of Joplin, Missouri, Aaron and Jonsye Bailey of Dayton, Arkansas, Amy and Darryn Davis of Verona, Missouri, James and Vicki Jenkins of Wickes, Jason Jenkins of Wickes, Neal and Patricia Jenkins of Wickes, Thomas and B.J. Jenkins of Wickes; one sister, Hazel de Mora of Copiapo, Chile, South America; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at the Wickes Church of the Nazarene with Brother Jon Newlin officiating. Interment is to follow at the Bailey Cemetery in Zafra, Oklahoma. Visitation is Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mena, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Carl Hooper, Jeremy Hooper, Darryn Davis, Ethan Davis, Eric Davis, Austin Bailey, Frank Bailey, Adam Bailey, Alex Jenkins, and Justin Jenkins.
